With one of
the largest tourism budgets in the country (over $50 million
annually) and 39 individual Convention and Visitor Bureaus,
the Illinois Bureau of Tourism (IBOT) knew it had to have an
integrated, strategic direction if it was to maximize its important
resources. The firm worked with IBOT and representatives around
the state to implement a plan that incorporated key strategic
elements of the state, while building broad constituent buy-in
to the process. IBOTs director noted, “In an incredibly
short amount of time, the firm zeroed in on what Illinois must
do to maximize its success in promoting the economic impact
of tourism. Their guidance has been on target, immediately
useful and extremely well accepted. By criss-crossing the state
to meet with tourism leaders and to hold regional input sessions,
they are creating a plan that is fully embraced by the industry
and state leaders.” |
