Picturesque Sonoma County has it all; beautiful coastlines, world recognized wineries, and quaint towns. But, the County wanted to ensure its public resources were being maximized. NTG worked to track the CVB's activities, benchmark performance to other competitive destinations and identify new initiatives to enhance cooperation among the diverse range of communities.
NTG has worked with a wide range of private and public sector clients providing them with an extensive range of advisory services that help them enhance their comptetitive position.
Grand Canyon National Park
Mr. Nichols served as the lead consultant to the Kaibab National Forest and Grand Canyon National Park on one of the largest new entry gateways to this beloved national treasure. This major project was planned to incorporate a mix of lodging, retail and interpretive elements, along with an array of community support components. Through one of the largest visitor surveys of Grand Canyon visitors, a clearer understanding of who they were, what they desired and where they went after their visit was developed.
The Governor of Washington demonstrated her commitment to the visitor industry by doubling the state’s funding of its tourism agency and developing a new 18 person Tourism Commission. One of the requirements of the Tourism Commission was to develop a new visioning and strategic implementation plan that would guide the statewide industry in new visitor oriented initiatives. The NTG/TRC team was selected to help guide the Commission through this process, coordinating not only the many stakeholders around the state, but also key marketing, public relations and web contractors assisting the state.
The Williamsburg Area CVB, retained the NTG/TRC team to assist the Historic Triangle region (Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown) to develop a long range tourism strategic development plan. NTG/TRC worked extensively with both the public and private sectors including historic and cultural attractions in crafting strategies addressing their unique competitive position. The team evaluated the unique challenges of historical destinations and crafted a strategy addressing the Williamsburg area’s short and long term approach to addressing product enhancements, organizational structure and tactical marketing initiatives.
